Karachi, in ancient times was only an abode for poor fishermen but now has become a roaring city of Pakistan. With its large seaports, it is considered backbone of the country & a major economic city. There is always rush on its roads and great hustle & bustle in its markets. It is known as city of lights in Pakistan. It is also most populous city in Pakistan & fourth most-populous-city in the world. At the time of independence, it was first capital of Pakistan. Clifton Beach – Sea view

Being an important coastal city, Karachi is famous for its beaches. One of many amazing beaches of Arabian Sea in Karachi, Clifton beach is most visited and prominent beach. It is also known as sea view and has a great attraction for beach lovers. Many visitors reach there to enjoy different activities such as relaxing on beach, camel & horse riding, walk on coast and including food on top of the list. It is the busiest beach of the city and always there is a great rush, either its day or night time.

Qouid-e-Azam House Museum

Originally known as Flag Staff House was bought by Quid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in 1943 and now famous as Jinnah House Museum. It is situated on Fatima Jinnah Road, Karachi.  Madar-e-Millat, Fatima Jinnah, sister of Quid-e-Azam lived here after his death. In 1985, it was restored and converted into Museum. Here one can see reading room, dining room, dressing room and bedroom with original items and belongings of Father of the Nation.

PAF Museum

If you like Aircrafts, fighter jets, plans, and other air force fighting equipment, PAF Museum is must to go for you. It is situated at PAF Base Faisal, Karachi.  At PAF Museum all these fighting equipment and weapons are presented for public. All the weapons and jets, which were used by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) are here, especially the weapons and equipment used in 1965 war against India is accessible to public visiting PAF Museum, Karachi. Many old and latest fighter jets are displayed in PAF Museum. Thousands of tourists visit this museum on daily basis, especially on public holidays and special occasions; there is a great rush of visitors. In park there are many food stalls and for relaxation there are different places in the garden.

The Chaukhandi Tombs

The Chaukhandi Tombs are very famous for carvings on sandstone and present early Islamic cemetery. At Port Qasim Road, about 30 kilometers in the east of Karachi Chaukhandi Tombs are situated which are spread over about 2 square miles of area. These tombs have great historical importance and have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mazar-e-Quid (Jinnah Mausoleum)

The white marbled mausoleum was build in between 1959 to 1969 as monument to the founding father of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It is very famous place to visit in Karachi. Especially the peoples who want to pay tribute to Quid-e-Azam visit this place. Mazar-e-Quid ground is also used for military and official parades and ceremonies on special days as per Pakistan colander. Especially on 23rd March, Pakistan day and 14th August, Independence Day there are parade ceremonies and guards are changed on Mazar-e-Quid. These are worth watching ceremonies.

The National Museum of Pakistan

At Shahrah-e-Kamel Ataturk, Burns garden, Karachi, the National Museum of Pakistan is situated. It is worth visiting place. Especially history lovers and interested to know about Pakistan movement has lot to learn here. There is ‘’Freedom Gallery’’ with news papers clippings, pictures and other things related to independence movement. Islamic art, ancient coins and other materials are also presented here. 300 copies of Holy Quran are also displayed in Quran Gallery.

Tooba Masjid

One of city’s major attractions is Tooba Masjid also known as Gol (Round) Masjid among locals because of its large round domed roof. Its architectural design is very unique as its dome is without any single support pillar and is 236 feet in diameter.

Empress Market

On Sadar Bazar, Karachi the oldest market of Karachi is Empress Market. It was built in 1889 & named to celebrate British Queen Victoria. The Governor of Bombay at that Mr. James Fergusson laid the foundation stone of the market. One can find everything from household items to jewelry, cloths and much more at this oldest market.

Pakistan Maritime Museum

With a real submarine, many real aircrafts and artillery used by Pakistan Navy in many passed years only can be seen at Pakistan Maritime Museum. It is among the top tourist places in the city. There is also an indoor museum that guides the tourists through murals and other related materials.

Karachi Zoo
