Co-Branded Visa Card Launched by Etihad and SBI Card

Etihad Guest, the constancy plan of, SBI Card and Etihad Airways, while SBI is one of the largest credit card issuers in India, has launched an exclusive travel-specific Visa credit card for members and the Indian society in the UAE.

This is the first international co-brand partnership of SBI Card, the second largest credit card issuer of the country.

It has been launched alongside the background of rising international travel in the state. Travel is now a type of payout category for Indian patrons, with 33% of on the whole card spends in the SBI Card portfolio prepared within the travel and tourism business.

The card will be on hand in two options, Etihad Guest SBI Card and Etihad Guest SBI Premier Card; will bring an unrivaled value plan to Etihad Guest members and worldwide travelers from India.

The partnership was launched at an exclusive evening at Hotel Taj Mahal in New Delhi, India, hosted by numerous travelers and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and by the top socialites and world travelers, business leaders and travel and lifestyle media.

Commenting on this partnership, Hardayal Prasad, Managing Director & CEO, SBI Card, said: “With Etihad Guest, we are pleased to initiate our first international co-brand partnership. Through this tie-up with Etihad Guest, we seek to offer a powerful product which will complement the lifestyles of affluent and urban Indians who frequently travel overseas.” He added that he expects the Indians will travel more with increasing disposable incomes and greater global exposure.

Under this method, card-holders of the Etihad Guest SBI Card and Etihad Guest SBI Premier Card will obtain a praising Etihad Guest Silver Tier Status with 2,500 Etihad Guest Miles or Gold Tier Status with 5,000 Etihad Guest Miles correspondingly, and with the first card swipe, consumers can start getting rewards directly.

The latest co-brand cards offer an accelerated rewards program which allows guests to earn up to six Etihad Guest Miles per 100/Indian rupee spent on Etihad.com. Cardholders also earn up to four Etihad Guest Miles on every 100 of international spends and up to two Etihad Guest Miles on every 100/ Indian rupee of domestic spends. In addition, guests earn two Tier Miles per 100/Indian rupee spent on all transactions.

Etihad Guest Miles can be redeemed to travel to destinations worldwide with Etihad Airways and over 20 partner airlines.

Other conclusions include additional excess personal belongings payment of 10kgs and 15kgs correspondingly and precedence boarding, 3% to10% discount on direct Etihad Airways bookings as well as the new Guest +1 coupon, permitting card-holders to take a companion along with them on a reward flight in any cabin or destination.
